The Role
As a Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes and/or supported living environments.
You will work alongside individuals to help them maintain their independence, achieve their personal goals, and enjoy the best possible quality of life.
Every person we support is different, so you will be expected to provide care that is tailored to their individual needs, preferences, routines and support plans.
Key Responsibilities
Personal Care
Depending on the individual’s assessed needs and care plan, your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting with washing, bathing, and showering.
- Supporting with dressing and undressing.
- Supporting with oral hygiene and personal grooming.
- Supporting with toileting and continence needs.
- Supporting with mobility and safe movement.
- Maintaining dignity, privacy, and choice throughout personal care.
- Always providing respectful and compassionate support.
General Living Assistance
Supporting individuals with everyday household tasks.
Assisting with meal preparation.
Supporting with shopping and essential errands.
Helping individuals maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
Supporting individuals to develop and maintain daily living skills.
Encouraging independence rather than creating unnecessary dependence.
Companionship and Social Support
Providing friendly and respectful companionship.
Supporting individuals to maintain relationships and social connections.
Encouraging participation in meaningful activities.
Supporting hobbies, interests, and personal goals.
Providing emotional and social support where appropriate.
Autism Support
Providing person-centred support based on individual communication styles, preferences, and routines.
Supporting individuals to develop independence and daily living skills.
Helping individuals access their local community.
Following agreed support strategies and care plans.
Recognising and responding appropriately to individual needs and behaviours.
Dementia Care
Providing compassionate and patient support to individuals living with dementia.
Supporting individuals with daily routines and activities.
Promoting independence and maintaining familiar routines where possible.
Communicating appropriately with individuals and their families.
Recognising and reporting changes in presentation, behaviour or wellbeing.
Learning Disability Support
Supporting individuals to develop independence and life skills.
Encouraging choice and control.
Supporting communication and decision-making.
Helping individuals participate in activities and their local community.
Supporting personal goals and aspirations.
Physical Disability Support
Supporting individuals with mobility and daily living activities.
Following appropriate moving and handling guidance.
Supporting the use of mobility aids and equipment where trained and required.
Encouraging independence and participation.
Reporting changes in physical wellbeing or mobility.
Community Access and Supported Activities
Supporting individuals to access their local community safely.
Accompanying individuals to appointments, activities and social events.
Supporting access to leisure, education, employment, volunteering, and community activities where appropriate.
Encouraging meaningful participation and independence.
Following relevant risk assessments and support plans.
Safeguarding and Safety
Care Assistants play an important role in protecting the people we support.
You will be expected to:
Follow Norvia Care Solution’s safeguarding policies and procedures.
Recognise and report safeguarding concerns.
Report accidents, incidents, and changes in health or wellbeing.
Follow individual risk assessments and care plans.
Maintain professional boundaries.
Promote the safety, dignity, and rights of individuals.
Escalate concerns appropriately to senior staff or relevant professionals.
Medication Support
Where required and where you have received appropriate training and authorisation, you may be expected to:
Support individuals with their medication.
Administer medication in accordance with the individual’s care plan and Norvia Care Solutions medication procedures, where within your competence and role.
Complete accurate medication records.
Report medication errors, omissions, or concerns immediately.
Observe and report changes that may affect an individual’s wellbeing.
Record Keeping
You will be expected to maintain accurate and timely records, including:
Daily care records.
Support notes.
Medication records where applicable.
Incident and accident reports.
Changes in needs or wellbeing.
Relevant communication with colleagues and professionals.
All records must be completed professionally and handled confidentially.
Working as part of a team

Care Coordinators
Registered Managers
Other Care Assistants
Families and representatives
Social Workers
Healthcare professionals
Other relevant professionals
Good communication and teamwork are essential to ensuring consistent, safe, and person-centred support.
About You
Norvia Care Solutions are looking for:
A minimum 6 months’ professional care experience in any care setting such as domiciliary carer, care assistant, support worker, healthcare assistant or in similar roles.
A driver’s licence is an advantage but not a requirement
If you do not have previous professional care experience, if you can demonstrate the right values, attitude and willingness to learn, we provide full training and appropriate support required. All we need from you is the desire to care for others.

Desirable
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
Previous experience as a Care Assistant, Support Worker or Healthcare Assistant.
Experience in domiciliary care.
Experience in supported living.
Experience supporting individuals with autism.
Experience supporting people with dementia.
Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
Experience supporting individuals with physical disabilities.
Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care.
Medication training.
Moving and handling training.
Safeguarding training.
Experience supporting people in the community.
Working Hours
We offer a range of shifts and working patterns depending on service requirements, including:
Full-time hours
